HC Deb 26 November 1919 vol 121 c1830W
MR. PENNEFATHER

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will state the amount by which our exports to Continental countries exceeded our imports from them during the first nine months of this year, and the amount by which the total Continental indebtedness to this country has increased this year, including services rendered and interest on investments?

Sir AUCKLAND GEDDES

I have been asked to reply. The excess of our exports (United Kingdom, Foreign, and Colonial) to the Continent of Europe during the first nine months of the present year amounted to £211,466,000. The details required to make an estimate of the kind suggested in the second part of the question are not available.
