HC Deb 25 November 1919 vol 121 cc1647-8W
MR. GRIFFITHS

asked the Secretary to the Treasury whether he will consider the possibility of paying a war gratuity on discharge to all members who have served m the Queen Mary's Army Auxiliary Corps; whether he is aware that many of these women, who have done service in France, are handicapped on demobilisation owing to the cost of a civilian outfit; whether in many sections they have done equally responsible work to that of their brothers in the Army proper; and whether, having regard to all the circumstances, he will see that the matter is sympathetically reviewed?

Mr. FORSTER

I have been asked to reply. The question has received full consideration, and I regret that it is not possible to give a gratuity in these cases.
