HC Deb 21 November 1919 vol 121 c1291W
Sir WATSON RUTHERFORD

asked the Postmaster-General when he proposes to allay the discontent in the Liverpool Post Office by requiring that those supervising officials who are now over sixty years of age should retire on pension?

Mr. PEASE

There are at present fourteen supervising officers at Liverpool who have reached the age of sixty, and it is proposed that these officers shall retire either this year or in the course of next year. It is not the general practice to enforce retirement at precisely sixty years of age in the case of officers whose efficiency, health, and conduct are satisfactory.
