HC Deb 21 November 1919 vol 121 c1285W
Mr. STRAUSS

asked the Prime Minister if he will state, in view of the many parents who have been educating their children with a view to their entrance into the Civil Service, when the first examination for entrance into the Civil Service will be held; and whether he is in a position to announce the terms settled by the Treasury Committee concerning the future of the Civil Service?

Mr. BALDWIN

Inquiry into the future organisation of the Civil Service has been referred to a Committee of the National Whitley Council, and pending a report from that Committee it is not possible to make any announcement. In the meanwhile, the normal examinations for women are being continued, and the vacancies for men are being filled under the Reconstruction Scheme.
