asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will state what is the average cost per head of a pauper, a convict, and a pauper lunatic, and what is the average weekly increase in cost per head above pre-war cost?

The average weekly cost per head of a pauper, a convicted prisoner, and a pauper lunatic, for the years ending the 31st March, 1914, and the 31st March, 1919, was approximately as follows:
