HC Deb 11 November 1919 vol 121 c259W
SIR P. PILD1TCH

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he is aware of the dissatisfaction created by the inability of people whose ranges and stoves have been fitted for the consumption of anthracite coal to obtain anthracite; and whether, seeing that inability is caused by the sale of anthracite for export at double the price obtainable under the control in the home market, he will take steps in the matter?

Mr. BR1DGEMAN

I would refer my hon. Friend to the latter part of the reply which my right hon. Friend gave to the hon. and gallant Member for the Torquay Division of Devonshire yesterday (Colonel Burn), in which it was explained that the difficulty is one of transport, and that the Ministry of Transport have the matter in hand.
