HC Deb 11 November 1919 vol 121 c253W
LIEUT.-Colonel PINKHAM

asked the Secretary of State for War if the 10th Battalion, Middlesex Regiment, is being sent to Crowborough Camp on its disembarkation from India; and, if so, why is it not being sent direct to its own headquarters, where it could be comfortably and suitably dealt with?

Mr. FORSTEP

The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative, and it is regretted that after careful consideration, my hon. and gallant Friend's suggestion in the second part cannot be entertained. It would involve additional expense and cause delay in demobilisation arrangements and it could not be adopted without giving rise to similar applications from other units. In the circumstances it has been decided that no exception can be made to the normal procedure laid down.
