HC Deb 04 November 1919 vol 120 cc1327-8W
Mr. WATERSON

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that Corporal C. S. Nursery, No. 39644, of the 17th Royal Sussex, Egyptian Expeditionary Force, Egypt, attested on 4th December, 1915; that lie is still retained in the East although he was thirty-six years of age before 30th April, 1919; if he can state definitely when this man will be demobilised; and, if not, if he will consider the advisability, to relieve the tension and feeling of similar men, of issuing a circular to those affected as to the reasons of keeping them in the East, although some have been twenty-three months without a leave?

Mr. CHURCHILL

The demobilisation instructions at present in force provide for the dispatch of all men (who had attained the age of thirty-six years by the 30th April, 1919), from their present stations to be completed by 1st February, 1920, subject to the necessary transport being available.
