§ Major COLFOXasked the President of the Board of Trade what was the cost of 1341W constructing the railway from Blandford to the camp; how many troops and how many tons of goods have been carried on the line; whether the line is still being used, and, if so, to what extent; and, if the traffic carried was charged for at civilian rates, what return, if any, on the capital outlay could be shown?
§ Sir E. GEDDESI have been asked to reply to this question. The railway to the camp at Blandford was, I understand, constructed for the Air Ministry, and the London and South-Western Railway Company were asked to work the traffic. I have not the information as to the cost of construction and the traffic on the railway which the hon. and gallant Members asks for, but I will endeavour to obtain it.
