HC Deb 27 May 1919 vol 116 c1051W
Mr. TYSON WILSON

asked the Financial Secretary to the War Office whether he is aware that four members of the "United Builders' Labourers' Union were asked to do some barbed-wiring work round a dangerous area containing live shells at Lyndhurst; that when the men asked to be paid the danger money usually paid for work of this character the reply of the authorities was to discharge them and march some German prisoners to the work; whether he is aware that the discharged men are now applicants for the out-of-work donation; and whether ho will make inquiries into this case?

Mr. FORSTER

I have no information as to the statements made in this question, but a report is being obtained, and I will write to the hon. Member as soon as possible.
