§ Captain REDMONDasked the Pensions Minister whether ex-officers in receipt of disability pensions, and who are at present employed by the Ministry of Pensions, have their salaries reduced by the amount of the military pension they receive?
§ Sir L. WORTHINGTON-EVANSThe answer is in the negative. But where the civil salary and disability pension together exceeds £400 a year, the salary is reduced by 10 per cent., with a minimum of £400 for the total emoluments. This reduction, which is general throughout the Civil Service, applies to service as well as disability pensions, and is in accordance with paragraph 4 of the Statutory Rules made by the Treasury under Section 6 of the Superannuation Act, 1887.
