§ Mr. W. CARTERasked the Home Secretary whether he is aware that many workers who have met with accidents arising out of their employment are finding the compensation they are receiving under the Workmen's Compensation Act inadequate; and if he will amend the Act to give a substantial increase of compensation?
§ Mr. SHORTTI would refer the hon. Member to the reply which I gave to a question by the hon. and gallant Member for Newcastle-under-Lyme (Colonel Wedgwood) on Tuesday last. It is hoped to announce the appointment of the proposed Committee of Inquiry into the working of the Act in the course of this week.
