§ Dr. ADDISONThe Housing Bill does not contain provisions which would enable financial assistance from public funds to be given to private firms undertaking building apart from their promoting the formation of public utility societies. The control of building materials has been suspended, and the market is free. I am sending the hon. and gallant Member a copy of an official statement which recently appeared in the Press with reference to the availability of material for the general purposes of the building industry.
