Mr. TYSON WILSONasked the Secretary of State for War whether his decision that soldiers employed on civilian work in Post Office telegraph exchanges should receive civilian rates of pay will be retrospective; whether he is aware that this complaint was first brought to the notice of the Under Secretary for his Department in the House of Commons in May, 1917; 1752W and whether, seeing that soldiers are unlikely to perform civilian duties in the future, he will give the necessary assurance that the payments shall be made to men who have performed this work?
