§ Mr. CROOKSasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Munitions whether he is aware that a discharged soldier employed in the teaching profession in Woolwich applied for his name to be put on the waiting list for a house on the Government's estate at Eltham, but his application was refused on the ground that he was not an Arsenal employé and whether, in view of the fact that this man has been serving his country during the War and is compelled to live in the district by reason of his employment, it would be possible to reconsider the matter?
Mr. J. HOPEThe Government estate at Eltham was intended primarily for the housing of employés at Woolwich Arsenal, and at present the number of applications for houses from Arsenal employés is greater than can be met. I am afraid that the decision arrived at in this case must be upheld.
