Mr. T. WILSONasked the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that in December last, and twice since, the pre-war employers of Private William Jackson, M/415591, Mechanical Transport, 50th siege battery, Ammunition Column, British Expeditionary Force, France, made application for his demobilisation, but that up to the present nothing further has been heard of the matter; and whether, in view of the fact that the soldier is forty-two years of age and application was made for him in the proper way, he will take steps to secure his early release?
§ Mr. CHURCHILLFrom the information given Private Jackson would appear to be eligible for demobilisation on account of his age, and, if so, he should be released in due course, unless temporarily required for the military machinery of demobilisation in accordance with Army Order 55 of 1919.
