HC Deb 04 March 1919 vol 113 cc254-5W
Mr. IRVING

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Agriculture whether he is aware that the Grant for scientific research formerly made by the Board of Agriculture and Fisheries to the Lancashire and Western Local Sea Fisheries Committee was during the progress of the War first of all reduced in amount and finally withdrawn altogether; and whether, in view of the increased importance attached to scientific research in aid of the development of the sea fisheries, he will favourably consider any future application made by the Lancashire and Western Committee?

Sir A. BOSCAWEN

The Board are aware of the circumstances to which the hon. Member refers. They are now prepared to consider applications for Grants in aid of local sea fisheries investigations.
