Mr. TYSON WILSONasked the Minister of Labour, whether he is aware that in some trades at the present time men are being stood off from work alternate weeks; and that under the Regulations now in force these men are three days out of work without being entitled to the 253W out-of-work donation; and whether he will consider an amendment to the Regulations to meet these cases?
§ Mr. WARDLEWhere there is a regular system in operation under which workpeople are stood off in alternate weeks the waiting period of three days has only to be served once, and, subject to the fulfilment of the usual conditions, a full week's donation is payable for each week during which the workpeople are stood off after the first.
