HC Deb 04 March 1919 vol 113 c239W
Brigadier-General CROFT

asked the Financial Secretary to the War Office whether his attention has been called to the fact that commissioned officers when demobilised do not receive twenty-eight days' leave with pay as is the case with non-commissioned officers and men; and whether, in view of the difficulty of finding immediate employment, such privileges will also be extended to the commissioned ranks?

Mr. CHURCHILL

This was very fully considered by the War Cabinet, and I do not propose to reopen the question. The temporary officer draws a very much larger gratuity on demobilisation than the non-commissioned officer or man.
