HC Deb 04 March 1919 vol 113 c238W
Brigadier-General CROFT

asked the Secretary to the Admiralty whether facilities will be given to officers and skippers who have commanded trawlers and drifters on war service to tender for these craft when they are offered for sale by the Admiralty?

Dr. MACNAMARA

A number of Admiralty-owned trawlers and drifters have been publicly offered for sale, and it was open to the officers and skippers in question to tender for any of these craft if they desired. Another opportunity will probably occur in the future, when a further batch of vessels is put up to tender. This is irrespective of the proposals to assist the skippers and fishermen of the Royal Naval Reserve (T.), which I hope to be in a position to announce at an early date.
