§ Major COHENasked the First Commissioner of Works whether he is aware that on 7th March a representative of the Ministry of Pensions proceeded to Kempton Park and selected two chassis for the use of discharged sailors and soldiers 2292W in. training as motor mechanics at the Swansea Technical College; that, although he was asked to deliver these chassis as early as possible, they have only just been delivered; whether he is aware that the cars are absolutely useless, several important parts being absent, such as magnetos, carburettors, and sparking plugs; and whether he will say what action it is proposed to take in the matter.
§ Mr. KELLAWAYI have been asked to answer this question. All the negotiations-in connection with the sale of these two vehicles were conducted with the Ministry of Labour. The particular chassis were selected by their representative and, in. view of their condition, were sold at the low price of £250. The issue warrant for the delivery of the vehicles was passed on: 14th April. I have no information that would lead me to suppose that these vehicles are unsuitable for the purpose for which they were required.
