§ Mr. CHURCHILLInstructions have been given to the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Egyptian Expeditionary Force, to divide available shipping accommodation between demobilisable men and retainable men who are eligible for leave, and the proportion is left to his discretion. The selection of individual men for leave is also left to his discretion, as he alone is in a position to say when any particular man can be spared, but in view of the arrangements referred to above it is hoped that cases like the one to which my right hon. Friend draws my attention will soon be remedied?
