HC Deb 04 June 1919 vol 116 c2034W
Colonel BURN

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty if he will consider the case of those men who joined in the early days of the War for service in the auxiliary yacht patrol with a view to their receiving a gratuity on demobilisation?

Dr. MACNAMARA

As already stated, the answer is in the negative. The naval war gratuity is issuable only to men who received naval rates of pay. Should any of the men referred to in the question have served for any period during the War at naval rates of pay, they would be eligible for a gratuity calculated on such period under the usual conditions.
