§ Mr. SPOORasked the Secretary of State for War how many soldiers are at present imprisoned in England and abroad, respectively; and what proportion of these are detained for purely military offences?
§ Mr. CHURCHILLI will have a return prepared showing the numbers imprisoned at home and abroad on a given date. The hon. Member will realise that these numbers fluctuate from day to day, and that for stations abroad special reports will have to be called for. As regards the latter part of the question, it would involve a great deal of research to determine the nature of the offence in each case, and I hope the hon. Member will not press for this information to be obtained.
