§ Mr. REMERasked the Under-Secretary of State to the Air Ministry whether he can now make any further statement as to the serious losses caused in his Department by the sanction of the use of cypress on aeroplanes; whether he has been able to establish the blame for this loss, and whether he is now in a position to make a statement as to his decision to strengthen his advisory committee with practical expert opinion in order to avoid such blunders in future?
§ Major-General SEELYWith regard to the first two parts of the question, I would refer my hon. Friend to the answers given to him on the 1st, 21st, and 26th May, and 26th June. In accordance with a suggestion made by my hon. Friend the Conjoint Board of Scientific Societies were invited to consider the co-option of representatives of the National Federation of Sawmill Proprietors. The absence of the 1389W chairman of that body in America has involved delay, but he has now returned, and I will inform my hon. Friend shortly what decision has been come to.
