Captain COOTEasked the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware of the condition of the central registry at the War Office; that requisitions for papers by members of the staff are repeatedly ignored; and, in particular, whether he is aware that Second-Lieutenant A. E. Brittin, 2nd Lincolnshire Regiment, has been reduced to a state of destitution, thanks to his case, which is in charge of M.S. 4b, having remained pending for over five months without this officer having received either the pay, medical board, discharge, or demobilisation to which he is entitled?
Captain GUESTI am having the case of 2nd Lieut. A. E. Brittin investigated, and will inform the hon. Member of the result as soon as possible. I am quite satisfied with the working under the present abnormal conditions of the central registry of the War Office, and if my hon. and gallant Friend would like to call at the office I will arrange for the methods of the central registry to be carefully explained to him.
