§ Sir H. BRITTAINasked the Postmaster-General whether he will consider the possibility of dating telephone accounts sent to subscribers by the ordinary method; and, if not, whether he will issue instructions that upon communications headed "date as postmark" the details of the postmark shall be legible?
§ Mr. ILLINGWORTHThe accounting in connection with the telephone service involves the issue of several hundred thousand small accounts every year, and the insertion of the date in each one by hand would in the aggregate mean a considerable amount of work. I will endeavour to secure that the details of the postmark are more legible.
