§ Mr. CHURCHILLSir, the facts are as stated. It is by no means unusual for a Minister to make statements to the representatives of the Press in order that they may be as fully informed as is possible. The practice has often been found convenient, and I have every intention of availing myself of it from time to time. With regard to the second part of the question, I am always ready to defend any part of the Government policy which concerns the War Office, if it is raised in the ordinary way upon a suitable occasion.
