Major NEWMANasked the Minister of Health whether, under the terms of the Housing Bill, it is contemplated that non-manual workers, such as clerks, insurance agents, and similar middle-class business and professional men, shall be eligible as tenants for houses built or acquired by a local authority; and, if so, will he take steps to make the fact known as widely as possible?
§ Dr. ADDISONThere is no provision in the existing Housing Acts or in the Housing Bill at present before Parliament which would prevent non-manual workers from becoming tenants of houses provided under those enactments by the local authorities.
