§ Mr. MACQUISTENasked the Prime Minister whether he is aware that the Liquor Control Board declined to allow an extension of hours for the sale of excisable refreshments at lunch time to the Fife Agricultural Society at their recent show on 21st June which was to have been opened by Sir Douglas Haig, the president, and which thousands of people attended, thereby rendering it impossible for the society to make satisfactory catering arrangements and causing grave inconvenience to the public attending; and whether ho will now abolish the Liquor Control Board?

§ Mr. KELLAWAYI am advised by the Board that this extension of hours was refused in conformity with the Regulations of the Board. As regards the future of the Liquor Control Board, I would refer the hon. Member to the statement of the Leader of the House on 2nd July.
