GEDDESWithout accepting the suggestion in the first part of the question, I would refer my hon. and gallant Friend to the supplement issued with the "Board of Trade Journal" of the 5th June, of which I am sending him a copy. The restrictions have been imposed or maintained in order to shield certain industries from foreign competition during the transition period.
