Captain GUESTThe revised Estimate of £1,750,000 was reported to the National Expenditure Committee last autumn, and at that time certain reductions were contemplated, which later matured in the omission of three large store sheds and a few roads. The net saving on this account would amount to some £136,000. On the other hand, certain expenditure has been incurred on lorry parks and roads to accommodate vehicles from Kempton Park, on temporary workshops, and on a railway extension and platform for the workmen totalling about £51,000.1978W If it is decided to modify the barrack accommodation to suit a civil administration, there will be an additional saving which cannot at present be estimated. Subject, therefore, to the above, which will be taken into account in a general review of the financial aspect of this service, now in hand, and to market fluctuations, the estimated cost stands at approximately £1,665,000.
