HC Deb 27 February 1919 vol 112 cc1996-7W
Captain LOSEBY

asked the President of the Local Government Board if he can see his way in the near future, with a view to the prevention of insanity and the reduction of our asylum expenditure, to encourage county and borough councils and other local authorities to supply or aid the supply of homes intended for the recovery of early and uncertifiable mental cases, and secure that, for the encouragement of voluntary applicants, such homes should be kept entirely apart from lunacy administration?

Major ASTOR

The suggestion made by the hon. Member is one which has been under the consideration of the Departments concerned. The whole matter will be reviewed with cognate questions in connection with the establishment of a Ministry of Health.
