§ Captain WEDGWOOD BENNasked the Secretary of State for War whether, in considering the granting of awards for service during the War, he will take into account the work of firemen who have been called out to fires caused by enemy aircraft, and have frequently had to perform their duty under conditions of great danger?
Captain GUESTThe Statutes and Warrants of the various military orders and decorations do not permit of award, except to military personnel or services recognised as military personnel. The question of awards to members of fire brigades is one for my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Home Affairs.
