WILLIAMSasked the Secretary to the Admiralty whether, in view of future developments and the inauguration of new branches of work under the Admiralty, the employment of members of the Women's Royal Naval Service will be considered in such new developments, seeing that no displacement of men would be involved and that unemployment among women is on the increase?
§ Dr. MACNAMARAAfter full consideration it has been decided that the Women's Royal Naval Service must be demobilised, but I can assure my hon. Friend that this will be carried out gradually and as the requirements of the Service permit. The suggestion of my hon. Friend will certainly not be overlooked.
