§ Dr. ADDISONFor some time past it has been the practice not to use the word "Pauper" in official documents where it is practicable to substitute another expression. Thus, for instance, the word is not used in the Poor Law Institutions Order, 1913. So long, however, as Statutes are in force in which the term appears it is impossible to abandon its use entirely.
