§ Mr. HAYDAYasked the Financial Secretary to the War Office whether the services of German prisoners of war are being lent to private employers in the neighbourhood of Kingsbridge, Devon, on cartage work and other agricultural work; if so, can he state the conditions under which these men are employed and whether any payment is made to the Department by the employers; and whether he is aware that these prisoners have been given preference before local unemployed labour?
