Mr. T. WILSONasked the President of the Local Government Board whether he is aware that in certain parts of the country it is being laid down that a person is not entitled to the local government vote unless he or she occupies an unfurnished room of a rental not less than £10 per annum, whilst in other places persons are being put on the voters' list irrespective of the rent paid; will he state which ruling is correct; and whether he wilt issue instructions so that a uniform policy may be followed?
§ Dr. ADDISONI have no information to the effect stated in the question. The local government franchise is not conditional upon the rental value of premises, whether unfurnished lodgings or not. I will communicate a copy of my hon. Friend's question and this reply to registration officers.
