Captain STANLEY WILSONasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Munitions whether he is aware that the Disposal Board of the Ministry of Munitions have advertised Hornsea Mere, in the East Riding of Yorkshire, as being for sale as a seaplane station; whether this has been done with his consent; and whether he is aware that this lake is private property which was acquired temporarily by the Admiralty under agreement with the owner in 1917?
§ Mr. KELLAWAYHornsea Mere was advertised as being for disposal with a view to ascertaining whether the Government property there could be disposed of in any way other than by the dismantling of the buildings and plant. The Department has now given instructions that any buildings which might he of use to the owner should be sold to her, and that the remainder, if any, should be sold for removal.
