§ Sir A. WILLIAMSONasked the Minister of Food if he is aware that there is general dissatisfaction among the fishermen on the Moray Firth in regard to the maximum prices fixed for fish under the Order dated 25th November; whether he is aware that the prices fixed are so low as to be unprofitable in present conditions; and if he will reconsider the matter with a view to raising the prices?
Mr. ROBERTSI have received representations from the fishermen on this matter. I think however, that the maximum prices now in force afford an adequate remuneration to fishermen generally, and while I am always prepared to consider any specific modifications that may be suggested, I do not propose substantially to modify the Order.
