§ Mr. CROOKSasked the Minister of Health whether a by-law was passed in June last providing for the registration as chemists and druggists of holders of the diploma in dispensing of the Society of Apothecaries who obtained the same before 31st December, 1908; and whether there is any possibility of a person who obtained the diploma in 1910, and who, since that date, has had five years' Army service, being registered without further examination?
§ Mr. SHORTTMy right hon. Friend has asked me to answer this question. The Pharmaceutical society have passed a bylaw, now awaiting the approval of the Privy Council, which provides for the registration as pharmaceutical chemists or chemists and druggists of assistants to apothecaries who obtained before the 21st December, 1908, a certificate of qualification under the Apothecaries Act, 1815. I understand that there is no possibility of a relaxation of the provisions of the by-law in question in favour of such a case as my right hon. Friend has in mind.
