Sir H. COWANasked the Secretary of State for War whether he will lay upon the Table of the House a list of the commons and public open spaces of which temporary possession was taken, in whole or in part, under the Defence of the Realm Acts, by his Department for the purposes of the War, and stating the county and town or parish in which such common or open space is situate; whether buildings were erected or works constructed upon the land; and whether possession has now been given up and the land restored?
§ Mr. CHURCHILLThe Military Commands have already been asked to furnish particulars to enable such a return to be prepared, and when it is completed my hon. Friend's suggestion will be considered. The work of preparation will, however, involve a considerable amount of labour, and must necessarily take some time.
