§ Mr. J. DAVISONasked the President of the Board of Trade whether, in view of the fact that no restrictions have been imposed in this country upon the importation of cement, and in view of the need of cement for housing schemes, he can state why it is impossible to obtain supplies from Germany and Denmark; whether it is due to the action of the Government of these two countries; and, if so, whether he can make any representations on the matter?
§ Mr. BRIDGEMANI understand that prohibitions on the export of cement are in force both in Germany and in Denmark. According to my information, however, there are ample supplies of cement available in this country, and there should be no necessity to import it.
