Mr. DOYLEasked the Minister of Food if his attention has been called to the high prices which are being charged for food and refreshments in restaurants, and also on confectionery and fancy bread; and what action, if any, he intends to take to defend the public against such prices?
§ Mr. McCURDYI would refer the hon. Member to the answer which I gave to him on the 10th December. The Profiteering Act applies to the sole in restaurants of foods which have been scheduled under the Act; and cakes and confectionery, whether sold in restaurants or otherwise, are included in the schedule.
