HARMOOD-BANNERasked the Minister of Health if he will state the date and short effect of all Orders in Council made under Section 11 of the Ministry of Health Act, 1919, appointing the days for the provisions of the Act to come into operation and of all the Orders in Council made under Section 3 of the Act transferring functions to or from the Minister?
§ Dr. ADDISONThree Orders have been made under Section 11, dated 25th June, 22nd September, and 25th November, of which I am sending copies to the hon. Member. The effect of these Orders is that the whole of the Act has now been brought into operation except proviso (1) to Sub-section (1) of Section 3 dealing with medical research; the date on which it is proposed to bring this into operation is not yet decided. No Orders have been made under Section 3. Three draft Orders have been laid before the House, but they cannot now be actually made till next Session.
