HC Deb 15 December 1919 vol 123 c57W
Mr. TYSON WILSON

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether the difficulties which have arisen with regard to the contracts held by Messrs. Jennings and Company, of Bristol, were due to the action of the Admiralty inspector; whether this inspector was afterwards withdrawn from the premises of another contractor engaged on similar work on account of his unreasonable methods; and whether this will be borne in mind in settling the claims of the firm?

Mr. LONG

The difficulties which have arisen are due to the numerous rejections and to contractor's inability to supply boxes to the requisite specification. The reply to the second part of the question is in the negative. All the factors applicable to the case will be taken into consideration in settling the firm's claims.
