Mr. KELLAWAY

My hon. Friend the Financial Secretary is furnishing my hon. Friend with a. statement giving such information as can be obtained without involving greater labour than is commensurate with the importance of the subject.

Mr. H. JONES

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Munitions what number of buildings for the storage of explosives were specially provided to meet the requirements of the War; how many such stores are still retained; and what are the annual charges, including salaries, wages, and allowances, in respect thereof?

Mr. KELLAWAY

The number of magazines provided for the storage of explosives was eighty-nine. Of these, fifty-four have been given up, and five more are being cleared prior to restoration to the owners. The annual charge based on present requirements is, approximately, £80,000.
