HC Deb 11 December 1919 vol 122 c1647W
Mr. FORREST

asked the Secretary of State for War if he will state the number of British officers serving in any foreign or Allied Army in Eastern Europe; and if he will add the conditions under which they are permitted either to volunteer or to be lent?

Mr. CHURCHILL

No British officers are permitted to serve with a foreign or Allied Army unless they have retired or relinquished their commissions. In such cases they are free to volunteer and no record of their doing so is kept.
