Mr. A. DAVIES (Clitheroe)asked the Home Secretary whether he is aware that passports are no longer required for travelling between England and Paris; and whether he can now state that the passport regulations governing visitors to the Channel Islands are to be abolished?
§ Mr. SHORTTIt is not the fact that passports are no longer required for 631W travelling between England and Paris. As regards the passport regulations applicable to visitors to the Channel Islands, I am in communication with the Island authorities, and I hope that when the Aliens Bill becomes law it will be possible to arrive at a satisfactory settlement of this question.
