HC Deb 02 December 1919 vol 122 c237W
Mr. A. T. DAVIES

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether the feasibility of extending individual holdings of War Savings Certificates beyond the present limit of £500 has been considered; whether there is any insuperable objection to such extension; whether he is prepared to recommend an increased limit; and, if so, to what amount?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

Yes, Sir; this question has been considered, but for the reasons stated in the reply which I gave to the hon. Member for Keighley on the 29th July last I am not prepared to agree to any extension of the limit.
